Grid Aeration Units
Grid aeration units deliver uniform air distribution, stable mixing, and reliable oxygen transfer across rectangular basins. Available in stationary (floor-sitting) and floating configurations with tubular or disc diffusers, the modular stainless-steel (304/316) design supports drop-in deployment without draining.
Stationary Grid Tubular Diffuser
Mapal’s floor-resting grid aeration unit with tubular diffusers provides uniform air distribution and reliable mixing. These units are ideal for rectangular basins requiring robust design and consistent oxygen transfer.
Mapal’s grid aeration units equipped with tubular diffusers, have marine-grade stainless steel (304/316) inner tubes and fine-bubble tubular sleeves (EPDM, silicone, PU).
The unit features a marine-grade stainless steel (304/316) structure, ensuring durability and long service life, it is crane-installed (drop-in), fully retrievable, and suitable for installation in live reactors without draining, minimising downtime and operational disruption.

Floating Grid Tubular Diffuser
Mapal’s floating grid aeration unit with tubular diffusers is designed to maintain optimal diffuser submergence under variable water levels, ensuring stable and efficient oxygen transfer. It is particularly suitable for lagoons and basins where draining or civil works are not feasible, where the floor is uneven, or where access to the tank floor is restricted.
The tubular diffusers incorporate marine-grade stainless steel (304/316) inner tubes fitted with fine-bubble sleeves in EPDM, silicone, or PU. A stabilising system of UV-resistant polypropylene floats supports the unit, which is harnessed in place to ensure reliable operation under varying conditions.
The overall structure is manufactured from marine-grade stainless steel (304/316) for durability and long service life. The unit is crane-installed (drop-in), fully retrievable, and suitable for installation in live reactors without draining, minimising downtime and operational disruption.
Operational Flexibility
The floating unit can provide a complete aeration solution, operate over existing fixed-floor diffusers, work alongside surface aerators for supplemental oxygen, or replace malfunctioning equipment.
